Cabbage pulav


Cabbage is one veg we always have it in our kitchen and wonder what to do with it?Here u go cabbage pulav a  simple dish that hide the cabbage flavour behind the coconut and corrinder taste.


Serving for 4

Ingredients

Cabbage -- 1/2cabbage( a big bowl size chopped length wise)
Basmathi rice   -- 1 1/2 cups
Onion  -- 1 cup chopped
Ginger --  1 inch
Corrinder -- a bunch
Greenchili -- 6 nos
Lemon juice --2tsp
Turmeric -- 1 pinch
Coconut -- 4 tsp
Split peas --2 tsp
Mustard -- 1tsp
Jeera-- 1tsp
Urad dal --1 tsp
Channa dal -- 1 tsp
Red chili -- 2 nos
Oil --  3 tsp
Salt  --1 tsp

To Grind

Coconut
Ginger
split peas
chili 
Corrinder leaves( dont add too much of water when grindng)

Method
  • Fry Basmathi rice  after soaking for 15 min and cook them with salt( with 3 cups of water)
  •  Add oil in  a pan, when hot add mustard, jeera, dals and chili.
  • Add Onions and chopped cabbage ( fry with liitle water until cooked)and then  grounded paste stir untill raw smell disappear.
  • Add  cooked basmathi rice and  mix well.
  • Serve hot with Raita. ( can add fryed nuts on top)
