Garlic/ Poondu rasam

Garlic Rasam is  a wonderful soup with the flavour of garlic. tasty dish.The garlic in the rasam is so good for health as it is semi cooked.

 Serving for 4

Ingredients

Tamarind  -- 1 small lemon size
Garlic  -- 5 nos
Turmeric   -- A pinch
Mustard   -- 1 tsp
Jeera-- 1 tsp
Coriander seeds -- 1 tsp
Pepper corns  -- 1 tsp
Curry leaves   --  few
Corrinder leaves  --  few
Red  chili  --   3 nos
Salt --  1 1/2 tsp
Jaggery  --  little
Oil --  3 tsp
Asafoetida.

To fry and  grind
Jeera                      
Coriander seeds    
Pepper corns       


For Seasoning
 

Jeera
Mustard
Curry leaves 
Corrinder leaves      
 
Method      

  • Heat oil in a  pan add mustard,  jeera, garlic,  chili  and grounded powder.
  • Add tamarind  juice and  turmeric cook for a while.
  • When the gravy thickens add Jaggery,asafoetida and salt. 
  • Garnish with corriander leaves and curry leaves
