Mint rice

Mint is an aromatic herb and give a unique flavor to the dish .It is a good fora healthy heart . Mint Rice is a easy and a healthy alternative from usual flavor.

Serving for 2


Mint chopped -- 1 bunch
Basmathi rice  --1 1/2 cups
Coconut shredded -- 4 tsp
Onion( chopped)--1 cup( 1 small size onion)
Potatoes cubed -- 2 nos 
Peas -- 1/4 cup           
Ginger -- 1 inch
Greenchili --7nos
Bay leaf   --1 no
Cinnamon -- 1 stick
Cloves --  2 nos
Cardamon --2 nos
Turmeric -- 2tsp
Oil   --  3 tsp
Salt  --  1 tsp

To Grind
TurmericGreen chili
Fryed mint( fry the mint with oil)

  • Soak the rice for 10 min and cook with 3 cups of  water .
  • Add oil in  a pan, when hot add cloves,cinnamon  and bay leaves.
  • Add Onions  ,cubed potatoes and peas and grounded paste stir until raw smell disappear   and saute for few min.
  • Add  cooked basmathi rice  and mix well  and cook in  simmer  for few min until flavor blends.
  • Serve hot with Raita.
