Carrot pulav

Carrot pulav is a tasty and healthy food.Struggling to feed carrot to kids ?Try this and they start to like carrots.


Serving for 4

Ingredients

Carrots -- 2 nos
Basmathi rice   -- 1 1/2 cups
Onion  -- 1/2
Ginger garlic paste --  2 tsp
Mint -- few leaves
Greenchili -- 3 nos
Bay leaf --  3 nos
Cinnamon  -- 1 stick
Cloves  --     3 nos
Fennel seeds -- 1 tsp
Lemon juice --2tsp
Turmeric -- 1 pinch
Cumin powder -- 1/2 tsp
Corrinder powder-- 1/2 tsp 
Red chili powder  -- 1/2 tsp 
Garam masala -- a pinch
Oil --  3 tsp
Salt  --1 tsp

To Grind
Ginger garlic paste ( 8 garlic+1 inch ginger)



Method
  • Add oil in  a pan, when hot add cloves,cinnamon fennel seeds, chili  and bay leaves.
  • Mix them with soaked and fryed Basmathi rice and cook them with salt( with 3 cups of water)
  • Add Onions, mint  and grounded paste stir untill raw smell disappear.
  • Add graded   carrot and saute for few min.
  • Add  coriander powder cumin powder ,turmeric powder ,red chili powder  garam masala and salt  then saute for few min .
  • Add lemon juice and mix well.
  • Add  cooked basmathi rice and  mix well.
  • Serve hot with Raita.
