Spinach Biriyani

Spinach Biriyani is a healthy and a tasty rice recipe. Do u want your  child to eat spinach  try this .


Serving for 2

Ingredients

Spinach  -- 1 bunch
Basmathi rice   -- 1 1/2 cups
Peas  --  1 cup
Small onion  -- 12 nos
Ginger garlic paste --  2 tsp
Greenchili -- 5 nos
Bay leaf --  3 nos
Cinnamon  -- 1 stick
Cloves  --     3 nos
Fennel seeds -- 1 tsp
Lemon juice --1 tsp
Turmeric -- 1 pinch
Cumin powder -- 1/2 tsp
Corrinder powder-- 1/2 tsp 
Red chili powder  -- 1/2 tsp
Oil --  3 tsp
Salt  --1 tsp

To Grind
Ginger garlic paste ( 8 garlic+1 inch ginger)
Green chili


Method
  • Add oil in  a pan, when hot add cloves,cinnamon fennel seeds and bay leaves.
  • Add small Onions and grounded paste stir untill raw smell disappear.
  • Add peas and saute for few min. (i used frozen peas for fresh peas pressure cook  and then add peas).
  • Add cut spinach, coriander, powder cumin powder ,turmeric powder ,red chili powder and salt  then saute for few min till spinach change color.
  • Add basmathi rice  ( soaked for 10 min and fry with ghee in a pan to take out the moisture).
  • Add lemon juice and mix well.
  • Water for any basmathi cooking is 1:11/2.  1 cup of rice with 11/2 cup of water
  • Pressure cook for  one whistle.
  • Serve hot with Raita. 



Tips
For better taste add coconut milk before pressure cooking.
